By salvaging the foundation and portions of the framing, we created an expansive 5,835 sq.ft. residence that blends Tuscan-inspired elegance with modern function. What began as a fire-damaged structure was transformed into a statement home that balances Tuscan charm with modern luxury. The redesign introduced an additional floor and over 5,800 sq.ft. of living space, with every detail reconsidered. Key features include a spa-inspired primary suite, a hidden speakeasy, and a chef’s kitchen with a retractable backsplash that opens to the butler’s pantry. Outdoors, the pool, sauna, hot tub and kitchen create a resort-like atmosphere tailored for entertaining. The result is a residence that honors its history while fully embracing the lifestyle of its owners.
Challenges Solved
Rebuilding after a fire meant carefully integrating the salvaged structure while adding an entirely new floor. The biggest design challenge came with the retractable stone backsplash — no product existed to achieve it. Our team engineered a custom motorized system to handle the weight of the stone while delivering seamless functionality. This balance of creativity and technical problem-solving became the hallmark of the project.
